What is it?
A special program that offers qualified employees substantial discounts on existing plans. Blue customers (previously AT&T Wireless) may also be eligible for National equipment discounts as outlined by the contractual agreement UC Berkeley has with Cingular wireless.
If you are looking to upgrade your equipment, please utilize Option 1 through busienss end user care to check on eligibility or take advantage of equipment discounts (Cingular stores may not be able to accommodate equipment discounts).
Who is eligible?
Full or Part Time employees with Cingular wireless service are eligible for discounted pricing by UC Berkeley. The cellular service must be under the financial responsibility of the employee.
How does UC Employees sign up?
Option 1:
- Contact the Business End User Care at 1-800-932-9775. Please be advised hold time to this particular time may exceed 5 minutes.
- Press 1 if you have TDMA service.
- Press 2 if you have GSM service.
- Advise the representative you want to be "Attached to UC Berkeley's Sponsorship Foundation Account Number,(FAN)".
You will need to provide the TDMA or GSM Sponsorship Foundation Account Number (FAN):
For TDMA phones

For GSM phones

Option 2:
- Take your cellular phone, photo identification,and proof of employment to a Cingular Wireless Store.
Advise the store representative you want to be "Attached to UC Berkeley's Sponsorship Foundation Account Number, (FAN)":
For TDMA phones

Note: Cingular stores may not be able to accommodate equipment discounts. Please see Option 1 above.
The discount will take 1 - 2 billing cycles to appear on your invoice. Please be advised the discounts are not extended to friends or family unless they are under the financial responsibility of the employee. These discounts are for employees only upon providing the appropriate proof of employment.
